“Fair Elections” run wild in Russia

“Say Putin rules or die!”
To break it down, there are several political parties in Russia. Most of them suck. They are the equivalent to our Green and Independant party. They are unorganized with no strong leaders. The two main parties in Russia that have been dominating the regional elections are Just Russia and United Russia. United Russia is the party that supports President Vladimir V. Putin. The new party Just Russia is an ally of Vladimir V. Putin. So when the general elections come through in december, who do you think will most likely end up winning the elections? He has a stronghold on the presidency. Leonid Radzikhovsky, an independent political analyst had this to say:
Ninety-nine percent of what is happening with the election now is the imitation of real political life.
Another sad statistic is that 99% of those who oppose Putin end up missing. Sergei Mitrokhin, a Yabloko deputy chairman, said that the Kremlin:
is building a false model of democracy… It is all hollow and fake.
He also went on to say (in regards to the bureaucrats):
Bureaucrats are allowed on the local level to challenge one another from time to time, but no one challenges the Kremlin.
You damn right. This might be the last time OA ever quotes these people. On account of them possibly taking a “long” vacation. OA doesn’t support any political parties but says Putin is a gorgeous gorgeous man.
