“Bloated weirdo pictured with Mirthala Salina.”

Los Angeles, CA - Telemundo news reporter and general hottie, Mirthala Salinas, was placed on paid leave this Thursday while Telemundo investigates whether or not she breached journalistic ethics by having a relationship while reporting on the Los Angeles Mayor. The news anchor hasn’t been on the news for the past three days. As to whether she has been on top of the mayor is unconfirmed. Salinas, 35, had her representative spit this:

I welcome Telemundo’s decision to conduct a comprehensive review of the matter and respect their desire that I allow the review to be completed before returning to work.

They are keeping her from working while they investigate whether or not she breached journalistic ethics. When did journalists have ethics? Was it when they chased down Princess Diana to her death? Or was it when they decided to stop reporting on the events of the day and chase down celebrities? Broadcast journalist Joe Saltzman, a veteran news producer who is director of the Image of the Journalist in Popular Culture project at the USC Annenberg School for Communication, believes Salinas should be fired among other things:

She’s history. It’s not a difficult case. I can’t possibly see any excuses she could come up with that would change anybody’s opinion of firing her from this news station. I would never hire her.

When a majority of journalists are facing career death or blogging adaptation, the question of ethics must be rewritten. That and she is pretty hot and they want to burn her at the stake affairs rate higher than interviews.
