“Do you like the feel of steel DC?”

The Washington District of Columbia has always been lacking something. And a federal appeals court finally figured it out. In a two to one rule that overturned DC’s gun ban, the second amendment (right to bear arms) will finally be in tact. If you live in DC, it’s now time to pack heat. Mayor Adrian Fenty had this to say:

Today’s decision flies in the face of gun laws that have helped decrease gun violence in the District of Columbia.

Before the ruling can go into effect, it still has to go into legislation. Texas Republican Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison had this to say:

Not only is Washington, D.C.’s gun ban unconstitutional, but it also has been a public policy failure as seen in the rise in crime since its enactment he time has finally come to change course.

Kay Bailey may need to brush up on her history. The gun ban has been the least of DC’s problems. Having a crackhead of a mayor for so many years might have been the reason for the increase in crime. Former mayor Marion Barry couldn’t solve crime because he was out committing it. And the crime in DC is his only legacy. So before Senator Bailey opens up her own gun stand, perhaps she should look back at Texas and see the abundance of crack free mayors that have made Texas crime free.
